Gabriel Orozco

Forty years after the beginning of an amazing and fruitful collaboration, Galerie Chantal Crousel is delighted to welcome Gabriel Orozco’s eighth solo exhibition in Paris, with a selection of new works like a diary between Tokyo and Mexico City, where he currently lives and works.

Drawings and watercolors, temperas on canvas and wood paintings with one common approach will be presented: that of the imprinting of landscape and plants originated from the gardens of Acapulco and Mexico City.

Diario de plantas will take us back to Gabriel Orozco’s fascination with the organic, its complexities and unstable nature, to his love for the elusiveness and immediate gesture which has so often been depicted in his notebooks. In a way, this new series also deals with absence, loss and always, the abstract.
