Double Trouble at VillageOne Space presents a dazzling group exhibit capturing the energy of the New York City arts scene. The group show opens on Tuesday, August 2nd at VillageOne Art. The show features artists Leonard Baby, Alayna Coverly, EmekaCkA, Sophia Chizuco, Mary DeVincentis, Scott Daniel Ellison, Ilana Eshel, Mario Estrada, Catherine Falco, Kate Finneran, Amelia Ford, Anna Gryglak, Caroline Gates, James Gortnor, Hwichan Ko, Kirstin Lamb, Nianxin Li, Xianglong Li, Silvia Muleo, Yigal Ozeri, Salome Rigvava, Xiangni Song, Pedro Troncoso, Christine Tudor, Feyzi Kutay Tufekci, Bona V, Tong Wang, and Xinyu Wo. Works on view offer whimsical takes on portraiture, abstraction, surface texture, bold colors and complex narratives. Many of the works are subversive, offering the viewer saccharine cotton-candy tones casting a Pop Art lens onto subject matters often both potent and powerful. The range of compositions reflected in these sculptures, paintings and mixed media works offer something for everyone while creating a foray for the visitor into the exuberant world of rising artist stars based in New York City and beyond.
